The
Episcopal Diocese of Western Massachusetts
is made up of 67 congregations in
the five Western counties of the Commonwealth
of Massachusetts. We are committed
to being healthy, mission-focused
outposts of love and transformation.
We are part of the world-wide Anglican
Communion and the Episcopal Church,
USA. Call the local Episcopal Church
in your community to find your place
to be known, loved, and sent out in
mission. We strive to have every member
be a minister, and every stranger welcomed
and invited to join us as the People
of God.
A Welcome to you from Bishop Gordon Scruton

Greetings from South Africa!
Dear friends,
As my first stint in Mthatha winds to its close, the pace of life has
picked up substantially and I find myself falling behind in my efforts
to write about all the good bits on my blog. Nonetheless, since some
of you like these reminders, if you have a chance to check out
http://mthathamission.blogspot.com in the next few days, you'll find
stories about South Africa's newest orphans, my mostly unsuccessful
efforts to get people to have HIV tests, and an Exodus-like plague of
bugs (kind of) that blew through my house. There's more to come, too,
including an update on our new micro-lending program and how I found
myself squashing my conscience about matters of race relations while
hitchhiking. And, of course, there's lots of pictures.
Have a great day!
Your man in Mthatha,
Jesse
